S Appel & Co Mens 38R Black Nautical Blazer Militaria Navy Yachtsman Ultra Rare. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. I have posted in many maritime history Facebook groups to find information on this jacket but haven’t gotten a certain answer on it but here’s what I know: the company made buttons from 1864 to 1935. I was told it could be a US navy medical coremans jacket, I was told it could maybe be from the merchant marines. And I was told it could possibly be a for a person who worked a private cruise line at the time. Either way, all experts agree that it’s an extremely rare find. 12 of the same buttons are listed on eBay for (just the buttons). It is a men’s size 38R in great condition for its age. The one flaw is that the lining has come undone from the bottom hem a bet. But the lining is in great shape, even has armpit reinforcers. The lining just needs to be reattached to the hem. A very inexpensive fix. Despite this, the lining is not bulging out. This could be a museum quality find based on how rare people tell me it is. Measurements: 18.5” shoulders / 25” sleeves / 21” pit to pit / 20” waist of jacket / 31” Length. Great condition for age. Worthy of a museum
